Does it make sense to avoid firmware updates for now and stay on the factory firmware?

After what happened to my brand new Lymow One Plus, I’m seriously wondering whether it’s safer to avoid firmware updates entirely for the moment.
My unit became completely unusable immediately after the very first required OTA update during setup.
Reading through recent posts, I’m also seeing multiple reports of firmware-related bugs, communication errors, OTA failures, and unstable behavior after updates.
So I’m honestly starting to think:

-does it make more sense to stay on the original factory firmware for now (2.1.39 or similar)?
-maybe wait until after the summer season before updating?
-or are the newer firmware versions actually worth the risk?

Normally firmware updates on modern devices are routine and safe. Phones, TVs, PCs, smart home devices… they all update constantly without significant issues.
Curious to hear what other owners are doing:

-updating immediately?
-waiting before updating?
-completely avoiding OTA updates for now?

Hi everyone,

I’ve just unboxed my Lymow One Plus and ran into a serious issue immediately after setup.

During the initial configuration, the app required a firmware update. After starting the update, the robot got stuck in a continuous OTA loop and has never been usable.

Current behavior:

- powers on normally

- enters OTA mode automatically after a few seconds (OTA_ing…)

- reboots shortly after (few seconds)

- returns to main screen and repeats indefinitely

Nothing changes.

At this point it looks like a firmware corruption issue with forced OTA at boot (possibly soft-bricked).

Has anyone experienced the same problem?

Before setup I red and followed the entire instruction manual and unofficial handbook.

Any solution?

Thanks.
