I am a video editor based in the Ph, I was recently hired by an international client from NY. This is actually my first direct client after 7 months of client hunting because I resigned from my corporate Job (due to the toxic environment). In the first month we agreed that I will be working for 20hrs/week for $3 per hour and I must tell you, it's not enough to go by everyday in this current economy.
After a month, (this is actually just last week from the time that this post is written) he told us that our hours will be reduced for 8hrs/week since we have no additional clients yet. My Indonesian co-editor went AWOL because of that. I went ahead and suggested that I can take his hours in for me since he's already out of reach but the client said that let's go with this for a few weeks and see. But in my perspective, I don't think I can survive this, in this economy? with just $3/hr for 8hrs a week? He's a good boss, a very understanding and flexible one so I don't think I will be letting this job go. But man, this is putting me on my knees.
I'm currently looking for another part-time maybe as a video editor too, or idk I have past experience with financing bc I was in a financial corporation before I resigned.
