My 3 year old daughter has recently started rubbing or humping inanimate objects (chairs, pillows, toys) for maybe about 2/3 weeks now. I read this can be normal and have been telling her “it’s okay to want to do that but we need to do that privately in our room” as per other advice I’ve seen here on Reddit. She occasionally also puts toys near her downstairs area. Today I caught her trying to ‘hump’ her little sister in her baby bouncer.
I’m just trying to figure out what is not normal and what is normal at this point. When does she need to see a doctor about this behaviour?
TIA
