[Routine Help] Extreme nose sebum production and sebaceous filaments – nothing seems to work

Hello,

I have been dealing with a cosmetic skin concern for several years. Since my pre-adolescent years (I’m now in my late 20s), I have experienced excessive sebum production on my nose. At first, I wasn’t paying attention to it, but unfortunately the condition has only worsened over the years, and my pores have become enlarged and filled with sebaceous filaments, so I started taking this seriously over the last 4 years.

I went to 3 different specialists and also tried countless products in this order: micellar water, BHA 2% by Paula’s Choice, clay masks, Adapalene (prescribed by my specialist), AHA 20% by NeoStrata (prescribed by another specialist), and lastly niacinamide 10% by The Ordinary. Moreover, I have been using CeraVe Oil Control Cream for 3 years in the morning and before sleep.

I also tried a Hydrafacial treatment at a cosmetic dermatologist, but it changed nothing.

I came to the conclusion that my main problem is that my sebum production on my nose is so high that no product seems to improve my situation.

I’m starting to wonder if Roaccutane is the only solution, even though I don’t have acne, just to reduce my sebum production, since nothing else has worked despite 2–3 years of trying literally everything.

My routine as of now is:

Morning: cleaning my skin with an oil cleanser, applying niacinamide, then 10 minutes later, once it’s dry, CeraVe Oil Control Cream.

During the day, I try to blot the sebum because my nose becomes oily again every 2 hours.

Before sleep:
Shower
Wait 30 minutes for my skin to dry completely
Apply AHA 20%
Then 30 minutes later, apply the same CeraVe cream.

After 3 full months of doing this, I’ve seen ZERO improvement.

I’m honestly begging for help because I don’t know what to do anymore. I feel like if I book another appointment, they’re just going to give me another product that won’t work for my situation or they will take my money for another treatment like Hydrafacial that is useless for my condition.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.
