Logged into Facebook on mobile but locked out on desktop – Reset SMS code isn’t arriving! Please help!
I am logged into Facebook on my phone, but I’m terrified that if I log out, I’ll never be able to get back in.
I tried to log in on my desktop, but it told me my password was incorrect—which I know it isn't. I had a few goes with other passwords it might have been, but I am certain the first one is the one I always use. I then decided to click "reset my password", and it said it would send a code to my mobile. However, the text never comes through. The email address on file is completely correct, and I can see the last two digits of the mobile number it's sending the code to, which I can confirm is definitely mine. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my phone either—I can send and receive normal text messages perfectly fine, it's just the Facebook one that isn't arriving.
It’s telling me the only way I can verify my identity is to either enter the code (which I haven't received) or enter the password (which it claims is wrong). Where on earth do I go from here? If I log out of the app on my mobile, I might never get back into my account. Please help! I’ve tried different browsers, incognito mode, clearing my cache, and logging in from a different IP address. Nothing is working. Please tell me someone else has had this issue before and knows what to do. I have 15 years’ worth of photos, messages, friends, and chats on this account, and I really don't want to lose them.
