After Spending $5000 on Facebook Ads, My Page Was Permanently Remove

I wanted to share a lesson that cost me a lot of time and money.

Over the last few years I spent more than $5,000 on Facebook Page Like campaigns and grew a page to almost 30,000 followers.

I created everything myself - memes, news posts, original videos, and other content. I posted consistently and never bought followers or used spam tactics.

Then one day my page was suspended.

I appealed the decision, hoping it was a mistake, but Facebook reviewed it and permanently removed the page with this reason:

Fraud, Scams, and Deceptive Practices

We reviewed your Page again. We confirmed that it does not follow our Community Standards on fraudulent goods and services. As a result, we removed your Page.

The crazy part is that my website is a legitimate business. I never promoted scams, fake products, or deceptive services. I wasn't even pushing people to click links in every post. The page was mainly content for the community.

There was no explanation beyond the generic message, no example of what supposedly violated the policy, and no real way to defend myself.

Years of work disappeared overnight.

The biggest lesson I learned is this:

Don't build assets that you don't control.

A Facebook page with 30,000 followers can disappear in a day, and there may be nothing you can do about it.

Focus on things you actually own, like your website, email list, or other channels where a platform can't wipe out years of work with a single automated decision.

Has anyone here successfully recovered a page after getting a final rejection like this, or is it basically over once the appeal is denied?

And just to be clear, my page never promoted or mentioned fraudulent goods or services in any way. That accusation is simply false, which makes this even more frustrating.

My Instagram randomly forwarded this image to everyone I follow, and Facebook sent it to my first 5 contacts. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi everyone,

I'm really worried

Out of nowhere, the image below was forwarded from my Instagram account to everyone I follow, even though I never sent it. I only noticed after people started receiving it.

After finding out, I immediately:

Changed my Instagram password.

Enabled two-factor authentication (2FA).

Logged out of all other devices.

Then I checked my Facebook account and found that the same image had also been forwarded to the first 5 people in my Messenger chats, even though I didn't send it there either.

I immediately did the same on Facebook:

Changed my password.

Turned on two-factor authentication.

Logged out of other devices.

Has anyone had this happen before? Was it because of malware on the phone, a compromised account, or something else? Is there anything else I should do to make sure my accounts are secure?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I miss the old Facebook. The platform has changed a lot since I last used it.

I had Facebook several years ago. I recently just created an account and wow have things changed. Maybe I have rose-tinted glasses of the past, but I think there are now a lot more problems than before.

One of the first things I noticed is that I don't think people were receiving my friend requests. I verified with one of my real-life friends. Sent them a friend request and they said they had to "search" for it and finally found it? Not sure exactly what that means.

Then I noticed my posts weren't hardly getting any interaction. I figured people didn't find them intriguing but then I realized I don't think most people are even seeing them to begin with.

My Facebook is full of ads, random videos, and random pages that I never really asked to see. I am not following any of it yet it still pops up on my feed, and I am trying my best to figure out how to only have the people or pages I follow solely pop up on my feed. But I don't think it's doable.

I wish things were the way they used to be years back as I don't remember hardly any of it being this spammy. Maybe it was and I just don't recall?

Anyways I guess I'm here to stay because I'm trying to become more social and have more social interactions online as well, but I don't think it's gonna help me with that anytime soon. Anyone else have similar thoughts?

Current Meta employees — how are you feeling about the company in 2026?

Current Meta employees — how are you feeling about the company in 2026?

From the outside, it feels like it’s been a pretty intense year:

Massive AI restructuring and team reshuffles
Recent layoffs and role changes
Huge push toward AI-first across the company
More internal pressure to move faster
Leadership openly saying some AI plans haven’t gone as expected

For those still at Meta, what’s the atmosphere actually like?

Has morale changed? Are people optimistic about the AI direction, or is there more uncertainty than before? Has your day-to-day job changed significantly?

I’d especially love to hear from women and people who’ve been at Meta for a few years—has the culture shifted in any noticeable way?

Not trying to stir up drama. Just interested in hearing firsthand experiences rather than headlines.

I’m trying to log into my Facebook on another device but it rejects my login despite clicking the correct verification number

So I’m trying to login on my Tablet, so it displays a number. On my phone I go into notifications and get a choice of three numbers and I click the number that matches in my tablet… and it still blocks the login. I’ve tried several times, is there a solution to this?

Seriously?! Where Did All These Friend Requests Come From? 102 in 24 Hours!

As the title says, I opened my FB up to find 102 friend requests. Over the past few days, I had about three, and (like I always do), I checked out their page. I figured they were probably in one of the groups I'm in, and we had similar ideals, so I accepted the requests. Plus I was pretty sure they were real, and not bots, since they all had their FBs for several years.

Then I logged in this afternoon, and BOOM!

I'm pretty sure I'm not being brigaded, or anything like that (most of my personal posts are 'Friends Only'), and I haven't made any comments or posts in any of the groups I'm in that were in any way controversial... So what gives? Anyone know? Has this happened to anyone else?

Facebook suspended my 2019 monetized account for 180 days because of a connected Instagram account

I just want to vent because I still can’t get over what happened to my Facebook account.

My Facebook account, which I created back in 2019, was suddenly suspended on July 4. It had over 5,000 followers and was already monetized. The frustrating part is that the reason given was an alleged violation from my connected Instagram account—even though I hadn’t even opened or used that Instagram account that entire week.

Now my Facebook account is suspended for 180 days, and I honestly don’t understand why. I’ve already submitted an appeal, but there’s no update, no timeline, and no idea how long I’ll have to wait.

Has anyone here gone through something similar? Did your appeal eventually get approved, and how long did it take?
It’s just really discouraging to lose an account I’ve been building since 2019 over something that doesn’t make sense. I’m still stressed about it and can’t seem to move on.

Will people receive messages from an account that's deactivated after messages have been sent?

Hey all.

My kid got into my phone and somehow sent a youtube video to my entire friends list. I don't use facebook anymore and have purposefully been trying to avoid messages on there. I panicked once I realize what happened and deactivated the account. Will people be able to see that my account sent them the message? Will it still go through since my account is deactivated now? I chose the option to not use messenger when it asked while deactivating so hopefully it deactivates that too.
