Propolis allergy - a year with lip blisters and possible answers

Hi all! I’ve had an awful year and looking to see if anyone else here can relate: In May 2025, I rinsed and ate fresh-picked strawberries and my lips had blisters within minutes. From then until early fall I kept having recurring blisters, but somehow nothing in winter. Then it started back up this past April. I finally got the patch test done and I’m allergic to Phenylenediamine (PPD), Gold, and Propolis.

So the theory is that I ate strawberries with bee residue/pollen and then the cycle continued since I kept using beeswax and topical steroid. My lips may have already been past their threshold before this from facial products that didn’t have propolis, but had other botanical/fragrances.

So after the patch test, my allergist put me on a lower dose steroid since my lips flared incredibly while the patches were on. It’s been two weeks and the new steroid was working but yesterday I started having red rawness and burning sensation again (luckily no new blisters...yet). Today I’m just using vaseline.

I have really bad seasonal allergies, so maybe a combo of that with the steroid made my lips flare again? Has anyone experienced anything like this before? I’m feeling desperate to just get my lips back to normal.
