Faux-rari
Here's a fun find. A super short darari obi that looks like an 80s henshin piece but has some of the most precise gold couching I've seen.
There were two darari with this same crest that sat on yja for some time until Heiwaya finally put them up for auction instead and basically gave them away. Despite the fact that I collect Kagai items this particular piece never struck me as something I wanted, but when it went from 1100 USD down to pennies...why not?
Definitely a weird piece though. It features an unusual crest and jimon, short length of only 460cm, brocade synthetic fabric made almost entirely of metallic threads, and only one side of the end has a crest. It also seems to be missing it's stiffener/core and one end has been left open.
Not sure about it's origins or exact age but it's in great enough shape that Ill probably use this to practice darari musubi👘
*Bonus points if anyone can find anything about the mon. I've searched the kamon databases but can't find anything like it
