Forex to Futures

I have been trading for 3 years now, tho I was on and off in between. The last 6 months I have been fully locked in. I watched the 2022 mentorship, and backtested and traded forex USDJPY.However, I did not trade futures, and only traded forex. I trade USDJPY. I have a system and model that is highly profitable, with a win rate of over 70%, and average RR of 2. I would consider myself a scalper, as I have tight stop losses, usually around 1-5 pips. I have just started using PROP firms (FTMO), but due to my tight stop losses, commission and spread is eating away at my profits greatly, to the point where I no longer know if I will still be profitable.

Hence, I am now making the switch to futures. Right now I am backtesting my strategy on NASDAQ 100, to see if it works. However, I feel like the NASDAQ moves very differently compared to USDJPY. Perhaps I need to adapt my model, or use something else entirely, which is honestly quite painful to do since I’ve refined my strategy for so long, and now I feel like I’m back at square one. What should I do to learn more information, to help me learn how NASDAQ moves, or anything that would help me. Should I rewatch the 2022 mentorship again since it’ll apply well to NASDAQ? I want to learn about the key opening times, NWOG, NDOG, and all that. I would really appreciate advice.

Commissions and spread

Ive just started using the prop firm FTMO to day trade / scalp forex. I would consider myself as a scalper as my most common stop loss size seems to be 4-5 pips but can also go as low as 1-2 pips or as high as 10-11 pips. Due to a small stop loss size, I have to enter with a larger lot size position, and that also means more commission. Becuase of this a 2RR trade can easily become a 1RR trade, as I get commissions deducted from profits, as well as commissions added onto losses. I trade the USD/JPY, and have a good win rate of roughly 67% and decent RR’s, ranging anywhere from 1-5RR.

I have done some calculations in order to calculate how much I would have to risk to risk 1% of a $10000 account including commissions , and the minimum RR for a trade in order for the risk to reward ratio to be 1 including commissions, for a specific stop loss size. FTMO has a commission of $5/ lot.
There are variations of stop loss size up to a 15 pip stop loss, and calculated to risk 1% of a $10000 account, which is $100

Calculations at the end go by:
(risk=amount risked+commision) (profit=(RR x amount risk)-commision)

1 pips SL | 2.58 RR | 0.56% risk | 8.92 lots (risk=$56+$44=$100) (profit=(2.58X$56)-$44=$100)
2 pips SL | 1.78 RR | 0.72% risk | 5.73 lots (risk=$72+$29=$100) (profit=(1.78X$72)-$29=$99)
3 pips SL | 1.53 RR |  0.79% risk | 4.2 lots (risk=$79 +$21=$100) (profit=(1.53X$79)-$21=100)
4 pips SL | 1.4 RR | 0.825% risk | 3.3 lots(risk=$82.5+$16.5=$99) (profit=(1.4X$82.5)-$16.5=99)
5 pips SL |1.32 RR | 0.86% risk|2.75 lots(risk=$86+$13.75=$99)(profit=(1.32X$86)-$13.75=$99)
6 pips SL | 1.27 RR | 0.88% | 2.4 lots (risk=$88+$12=$100)(profit=(1.27X$88)-$12=$100)
7 pips SL | 1.22 RR | 0.90% | 2.05 lots  (risk=$90+$10=$100)(profit=(1.22X$90)-$10=$100)
8 pips SL | 1.2 RR | 0.91% | 1.81 lots  (risk=$91+$9=$100) (profit=(1.2X$91)-$9=$100)
9 pips SL | 1.18 RR | 0.92% | 1.63 lots (risk=$92+$8=$100)(profit=(1.18X$92)-$8=$100)
10 pips SL | 1.16 RR | 0.93% | 1.48 lots (risk=$93+$7=$100)(profit=(1.16X$93)-$7=$100)
11 pips SL | 1.14 RR | 0.93% | 1.35 lots (risk=$93+$6=$99)(profit=(1.14X$93)-$6=$100)
12 pips SL | 1.13 RR | 0.94% | 1.25 lots (risk=$94+$6=$100 )(profit=(1.13X$94)-$6=$100)
13 pips SL | 1.12 RR | 0.94% | 1.15 lots (risk=$94+$6=$100)(profit=(1.12X$94)-$6=$100)
14 pips SL | 1.11 RR | 0.95% | 1.08 lots (risk=$95+$5=$100)(profit=(1.11X$95)-$5=$100)
15 pips SL | 1.10 RR | 0.95% | 1.01 lots (risk=$95+$5=$100)(profit=(1.10X$95)-$5=$100)

As you can see, the numbers and statistics aren’t great and a lot of my profits are taken away. In my strategy, I also take a lot of partial profits, and I have no idea how to calculate that, or go about that. I’m facing some difficulty, and am currently panicking , but I know I need to adapt. I am afraid I will no longer be profitable, and I’m also dealing with the fact that things were not going as smoothly as I thought.
I would really appreciate advice.
