Mark Cherry hates is own show lol
I’m at the Mike episode in the final season and I’m genuinely convinced Mark Cherry started hating his own show by this point 😭
He had the perfect opportunity to write an amazing finale, but instead we got:
-Mike killed off for shock value
-Karen dying
-Orson completely ruined as a character
Season 8 feels depressing rather than fun. One of the things I loved about Desperate Housewives was the balance between drama, camp and dark comedy, but this season just feels heavy all the time.
The Gabby stepfather storyline was important in theory, but the execution felt awkward and forced to me, especially mixed with the girls suddenly turning against each other over Alejandro. After eight seasons, their friendship drama felt so manufactured.
And honestly? The way they destroyed Orson still annoys me. He went from one of the funniest and most complex husbands to basically a plot device.
I know the show was always dramatic, but the final season feels weirdly mean spirited compared to earlier seasons.
