Nicollette is so tea
I love her. She’s such a 2000’s it girl

I don't know, Deidra looks innocent to me. Yes, he killed her senselessly, but I still feel sorry for him. I'm very confused, what do you think?
What a weird thing to write 😅
Seriously, what is wrong with him? In the middle of the Atlantic City suspicion arc right now, and he's a great liar. Lynette isn't always my favourite, because she seems very stressful all of the time, but she deserves better than Tom who is probably definitely always at least a step away from cheating...
Me first!!!
I have such a love-hate relationship with him, like I really hate the fact that he's a serial cheater but it's so entertaining to watch the scenes he's in. I think he was the funniest husband of all of them (Orson is a close second). Also he's EXTREMELY attractive
Not much of a fan of how she treated Beth in the later seasons but I’m rewatching and realised I absolutely love her in the early season. She’s hilarious and some amazing one liners.
Lately I’ve been seeing posts from Tom Scavo’s defenders so I actually want to talk about why his behavior seems so normal to some people.
I genuinely think that if you grew up around a father or have a husband like Tom, there’s a good chance his behavior registers as normal because that’s what was modeled for you. And I think it takes a certain level of discernment to separate what feels familiar from what is actually healthy. Because even liking him, in my opinion, requires overlooking or minimizing at least some of his behavior.
And deep down, I actually empathize with that, because I genuinely wonder what kind of men they date, what kind of fathers or they grew up around, or what kind of male figures they’ve had in their lives that made Tom’s behavior seem normal or acceptable.
So I’m curious from both sides: What Tom behaviors do you think viewers tend to normalize because they are so common in real relationships? And if you defend Tom, what do you see in those same behaviors that makes you interpret them differently?
While rewatching this series when I'm older, I started to realize my mom is pretty much a carbon copy of Lynette. She even had an argument with my teacher when my teacher said I might have ADHD (teacher was right lol) and had issues with me being on medication too. She didn't abuse my meds, but I remember she would prevent me from taking them some days when I didn't have school because she felt weird about it, much like Lynette did.
However, I think my mom wants to be like Bree. I can see resemblances there too, she's like a mix of both oddly enough.
I can't really see my Dad in any of the fathers on the show. If I was forced to pick one, I would say maybe Carlos as he always took his job seriously and he can be really loving, or really angry, with little warning but he was never abusive like Carlos was at times to us or my mom.
Why does everyone love Bree?? I think she’s a bad mother, wife, friend, and person. Can someone explain? Not hating on anyone just genuinely wondering
I’m only on Season 2, so idk if Edie becomes a much more regular character, but I am absolutely loving Edie, so I really hope she does 😂 She is hilarious and says everything you think but would never actually say. Any other Edie fans??
I started rewatching Desperate Housewives for probably the millionth time 😂 I’m on Season 2, Episode 15, and somehow i’ve never noticed these fake tears before 😂
One that comes to my mind is in season 5, episode 14, where Carlos gets a bonus at his new job and he and Gaby are celebrating being rich again and he tells her he wants to take her to the fancy restaurant and she says she's going to wear the dress she wore when he proposed to her and he laughs and says "you still fit in that?"
The look on his face immediately after is epic.
I’m on S7 and I’m starting to hate Lynette 😭 Why does she always have to push what she wants and not respect Tom’s decisions?
I hated how she humiliated Tom at the conference, how she kept interfering with what Tom wanted for his office, and how she constantly assumes that what she wants is automatically what Tom wants too.
And now she’s getting pissed because Tom finally stepped up and took charge of planning their family vacation?? 😭 Girl, let him do something for once!!!
It’s frustrating because I feel like Tom is finally trying to have a voice in their marriage, and Lynette just keeps bulldozing over him.
This is my first time watching and I’m on the last season sadly😭. However I feel like toward the end of season 7 into 8 they just threw Gabby’s stepfather storyline bcs they were running out of stuff. The way Carlos is so torn up about killing him kinda goes against his character. We know he would protect gabby and even at the end of season 7 he had said if he were the one with the gun he would’ve killed her stepfather. So i don’t understand why they’re making it sooo traumatic for Carlos. Yes ofc he killed someone, but that someone traumatized gabby in a horrible horrible way.
When I watched the first time, I liked Susan fine for a few seasons, then started getting annoyed with her antics. On each rewatch, I discover more and more why the fandom hates on her so much.
She is selfish. She fixates on men. She is NOT a good mother. She is clumsy. She is messy.
But the hate that gets poured on her is actually insane to me.
First of all, are we all watching the same show? It’s a soapy comedy. She makes messy decisions. Newsflash: thats how characters on those shows work.
Meanwhile, y’all are literally bashing her to bits while:
Gaby has an affair with a child.
Bree abandons her son on the side of the road (who she basically said was going to hell for being gay)
Bree SLEPT with her friend’s ex husband who had cheated on her (while cheating on her OWN husband)
And Lynette……well, actually, she had to deal with Tom so she gets a pass.
I LOVE ALL THE GIRLS!!! I say this as someone who does not overly hate on or overly defend any of them.
But seriously, on a soapy show like this, it astounds me how much you guys hate Susan, and let the other objectively horrible things the other girls do slide.
does anyone else find the ages of the characters so confusing.
so in season 1 we see on mikes board of the people of the lane that lynette is 41, which makes sense to me.
but somehow in season 5 or 6 (can’t remember the exact season) she said she was 43. season 6 takes place at least 10 years after season 1, so did lynette magically age 2 years in 10?
also in season 3, zach is 17 about to be 18. he says to gabrielle he is 2 months older than john rowland. but we watched john turn 18 in the first season so how does that make sense? does he mean he is 2 months older than john rowland when gabrielle was sleeping with him or is this just a plot hole?
also before the time jump parker scavo is clearly a similar age to the twins, surely a year apart right? he honestly could pass for the same age. but after the time jump he is somehow significantly younger than the twins. it’s like parker aged only 3 years in the 5 year time jump and somehow the twins aged like 7 years
also i’m sure so many people have commented and discussed these before, but im new to this reddit group so i haven’t seen it yet.
They paired a business shark with a golden retriever... You're either mad at Lynette for chastising him too much, or mad at Tom for being thoughtless/irresponsible. I can see how (most) every couple clicks except for them
Who is the most liked housewife and why does the fan base love her?
