Hello everyone, I just started this show and I’m still on season 1. Something I have noticed, though, is how during the show they seem to only show Black women at specific times almost like they’re enforcing stereotypes. I have no issue if Black people aren’t in the show, but the way they conveniently show them is weird. First, when Lynette tries to fight Macy Gibbons at the school meeting, the camera immediately pans to a Black woman (the first one I’ve seen in the show) once Lynette starts acting out. Then, the second time I see a black woman is when Macy Gibbons is in jail, they show her along with three other Black women in a room together. I know I’m not crazy, but has anyone else noticed this? I like the show, but the microaggressions towards Black women are very noticeable. If you’re not going to put black women in the show that’s okay but if you are why only show them in a negative light?

And my heart feels broken??

I binged this show. Being a desperate housewife myself, I really enjoyed it and watched every chance I had.

Wtf am I supposed to do now. How will I wash the dish without watching these beautiful dysfunctional women live their lives???

I think she is like this because she is married to Tom. Her executive energy, drive and intelligence is going towards either managing this manchild or acting as risk management to the things he does. Not saying she is perfect but idt she is actually a nag. I think she is smart and driven and that energy has nowhere to go because she didn't prioritize her career plus she married Tom.

Who tf spends their life savings on a restaurant when they have no experience and without telling their partner? Then ofc it fails because he is a moron with no business acumen?

Why is he fighting and getting mad at her because she wants him to take a CFO position? Before he accused her of holding him back but now its a problem that she is pushing him? He is such a loser its not even funny.

I also have a theory that she is insecure and feels a subtle(its very subtle) need to compete with other women which is why she has ever seen any value in Tom at all. He was someone else's when they met, he slept with her best friend, got another woman pregnant and used that CFO job to get a gf during their separation. He is always surrounded by these other women and by locking him down, she feels like she won some prize. But he isn't a prize at all.
