Error 429 has been happening for days with no solution in sight. Did they reduce the nodes on that model? Is there something wrong with it? What is going on?

My friend’s in LAU and his gpa is slightly below 2.0 in his first year, and is wondering if he’ll get kicked out of the school of engineering and forced to change his major or if he’ll be put under probation for the next two semesters?

I just wanted to rant today for a bit, and the best way to do so for this topic is here.

So I’m studying abroad (Oxford, UK) and I’ve been craving Lebanese food and especially shawarma for MONTHS. Can’t find an authentic one and it’s driving me insane.

Reason is, every Lebanese restaurant I’ve tried so far in Oxfordshire, and the area around it is just Syrian Restaurant LARPing as Lebanese ones. Came across one yesterday that burst me into tears. “Al Shami - Authentic Lebanese food”. Like wtf.

Also DOWNTOWN, RIGHT IN THE CITY CENTRE, there’s two others that are not Lebanese but go to extreme lengths to try and convince people, like there’s one of them called “Comptoir Libanais”, which is also not run by Lebanese, AND their food is so off what our foods usually taste like it just baffles me. But hey! Points for putting a fez poster and a Fairuz poster! (/s for the last statement btw)

The other, directly beneath Carfax tower, does Shawarma without having the rotating chicken tower and so it ends up tasting and having the texture like a cross dressing Taouq sandwich.

Now I get the fact that Lebanese food is usually more known in the west and more appealing and so LARPing = more money, but that’s literally ruining our image.

I’ve got hopes for one restaurant that I’ve yet to try, “Massaya Oxford” (I think they might actually be Lebanese bcz they sell Ksara/Kefrayya/Tourelle wine with Almaza etc.. although VERY up charged, but fair enough these are probably hard to import), but looking at their menu online, it looks like you’re gonna have to sell a kidney if you want anything other than your main, which could potentially drive people to the fake Lebanese restaurants and then let them have a bad experience.
