6MT 328xi barely goes into 1st and 2nd gear
About 2 weeks ago I was driving the car and when I went to put it into first and start moving I could not get into first. I realized second gear was also not working and I had to use 3rd gear to get home. Doing research on the topic I believe I have it narrowed down to an external shifter linkage problem or internal linkage problem. I got the car up on the lift today and I just cant seem to find an external selector rod or anything of the sorts. I've tried looking everywhere but I cannot seem to find where the external linkage would be on a xdrive 328. If anyone has had a similar problem or could point me in the right direction with finding the selector rod please let me know. Id also like to mention that my buddies did manage to wiggle the car into 1st and 2nd but it got jammed in first and the car needed to be rolled back in order to free it from that gear.
