I think I made it too good…

Finally got this thing dialed in on Intrax 1K2 coilovers with 18x10s wrapped in 275s. Truly impressed with the suspension setup, and I’ve owned a lot of the top-tier brands on the market.

It’s almost “too good” in the sense that I can’t find the limit on the backroads. So, to the track we go.

Daily driving? Super composed. Backroads? Insanity.

I’ve only owned it a year and held off for a while before doing any major mods, but this completely transformed the experience without ruining what makes this platform special.

* Oh, and yep, E90. Apparently Reddit decided the sedan doesn’t get its own place.

M47 vs n47 timing chain

A lot of people know about the difference in reliability between those two diesel versions and here is why (left M47 right N47)

Edit: The M47 is from a E90 320d pre LCI and the N47 is from an F10 520d

Bought these from the wrecker - what wheels are they?

Can't find it on bmwstylewheels.com so I'm assuming aftermarket? Currently on my e92 but they came off a 5 series (F gen).

5x120, 72.56. 18" and probably 8" wide. 35ET ish if I had to guess.

What wheels are they?

Welp I Did a Thing last Week

Well... like the title states, I need something a little more kid and dog friendly so sadly I've left the E9X Gang (For Now) Traded in my E92 For a 2016 X5-M Sport (F15)With the Twin Turbo V8 basically the ultimate dad mobile.

This one had the Tech Package and the Panos Package. Its about as close as you can get to the X5M without having an X5M

Oil pressure light? New driver and owner what to look for? Please help as im clueless and parents are helpless.

Car details: 2009 320i LCI M package.

Hey! Im a new owner to this car. I've had it, and my driving license. for 3 weeks now. It drives great, and it's been the perfect first car for me.

I have 3 issues with the car, and to no ones surprise, it's all oil related.

I have a slight leak towards the back of the rocker cover that spills oil onto the manifold, but it's a tiny seep. The oil filter housing, however, seems to be quite a bit of oil. it's throwing it backwards towards the bulk of the engine. I'll try to show it properly in the images and label them below.

Lastly, im getting what i think is an oil pressure light. However, it seems only when im doing motorway speeds, at about 60 or so, mph it pops up and stays up. I dont know what it could be, but it clears when the car is restarted and comes back. I've done 300 miles on it since I bought the car, and everything seems fine, but I dont want to wreck this unit.

As mentioned its my first car and I have no idea about what sounds normal and what sounds odd or out of place, I love everything cars and have done since I was younger but my parents never supported me in it or had chances to go to events etc as they thought of it as hooner activity and now im inquiring about the engine with them and they dont even know and keep blowing me off as everything is okay.

Photo 1 is near the back of the rocker cover,

Photo 2 is the oil filter housing towards the front of the car

Photo 3 4 and 5 are the oil filter towards the back of the engine with where most of the puddle seems to have formed.

Photo 6 is the oil light I keep getting its not mine got this one from google but I have the exact the symbole in a red colour toi and it does say the oil level is in the middle and says OK.

18 thinking of a 328i e92 or e90 as a first car

18, living with parents, and I have a road maintenance job ( 2500 a month, only real expense is $500 rent). My boss said I need to show up no matter what, including bad weather and I have no backup car if mine’s down.
I’ve wanted an E9x 328i (N52) for weeks did research on the known issues (cooling system, VANOS, valve cover gasket), planned to DIY most of it myself. I genuinely want to learn how to wrench, not just pay a shop for everything, and I want a car I’m actually proud to own and take care of, not just something that gets me from A to B. Dad would cosign once I have income.
But my dad’s pushing back hard on RWD + Premium gas he says + no backup car for a job that can’t tolerate a missed day, and I don’t fully disagree with the concern.
My current plan is a Subaru Legacy 2.5i (NA, AWD, manual) as the actual daily, saving toward the E9x as a second car later once I’ve got a job track record and more of a cushion.
Questions:
- Would you actually trust an RWD E9x as a daily with zero missed-day tolerance and no backup car, even with good winter tires?
- Is E9x xDrive worth the extra hunting/cost for this specific situation, or overkill?
- Anyone here delayed their dream car for a reliable daily first worth it, or regretted the wait?
Not trying to talk myself out of the E92 tbh I just want honest input on sequencing given the job constraint, and whether the DIY side of things is worth factoring in here. Thanks.

What do yall think?

Love my 07 e90 328i but I think I want something boosted. What do yall recommend better for daily driving a n54 e90 or an n55 e90? I still wanna have some fun (push it, drift/slide, launch) but love the reliability of the n52. I heard the n54 is more reliable for making power because of the forged pistons and camshaft (might be wrong about what is forged) but I’ve also heard the n55 is more reliable for daily driving but is weaker internally. Heard a story that you can’t drift the n55 because the oil will get sucked inside of somewhere and you can mess up your engine (don’t know if that’s true also) but I’m really stuck on which one to get. Any suggestions? I do all the work myself, unless it’s engine related, so I don’t mind replacing things that need to be replaced.

Car completely stalled out when trying to move off at lights.

‘06 N52B30 auto.

Been having some slight issues over the past months whilst accelerating. Namely the revs stuttering and dropping when quickly applying the throttle. This is an intermittent issue, only cropping up once or twice a week.

Fast forward to today, commuting home, get to a red light and come to a stop. Wait for about 60 seconds and the lights turn green, apply gentle throttle, and the car completely stalls out. I put the car in park, take out the key, put the key back in and try to start it. Nothing. I take the key out again, wait a few seconds and try again, and the car starts, before stalling out completely again with throttle. The lights have now gone red again, so I remove the key, wait 10 seconds, and put the key back in, and it starts. When the lights hit green, I put the car in drive, and wait for the car to roll a few feet without throttle, before gently applying throttle, and then the car moves off fine. I manage to drive the 5 minutes home with no more issues.

Absolutely any idea what this could be?

Recent maintenance includes VANOS solenoids, oil change, water pump, MMF and thermostat replacement, all in the last 1k miles. Previous owner replaced battery and battery harness (due to some water ingress) approximately 3k miles ago.

Attached codes from BimmerLink for reference.

Fog lights for aftermarket M3 style bumper?

Just just bought this 09 E92 335i xDrive and I’m in the process of restoring it to factory new(ish. Maybe making it look like, it’s 3 years later and the first owner took great care of it because I don’t have infinite money). I have slots for fog lights but I don’t have a darn clue what’s going to fit here. I know the M3 never had fog lights so I assumed regular E9X ones would fit, but Google and ChatGPT said maybe not and to ask on Reddit. I asked BMW and they aren’t willing to give me advice. I have no idea what’s company produced this bumper either. So here I am, asking Reddit. Any ideas? 🥹

Thanks in advance!
