E91 Central Locking Issues
I'm nearing my wits' end.
Central locking doesn't work via the fob & radio doesn't have a strong signal to any station.
I have checked codes with ISTA on my laptop, but nothing seems to come up. For context, when I first bought the car, central locking didn't work whatsoever. I had to replace the door locks and repair the wiring in order to get it to work. Since then, nothing has happened other than driving and using the car. The locking went from solid every time at range to intermittently working now to nothing works other than the metal blade in the door (which sets the alarm off) or pressing the button inside the car OR ejecting the key from the slot. I originally coded the alarm to beep when activated/disarmed that no longer works either.
A locksmith confirmed the key fob is omitting a frequency. It's like the car just isn't picking it up.
On the diversity antenna, when checking the voltages, I get
12v (red with yellow trace)
4v (yellow with blue trace)
4v (red with blue trace)
0v (red with black trace) - Which I believe is correct? Car activated wire, etc.
The car is standard besides an aftermarket stereo - the central locking was originally working with both standard and aftermarket stereo.
I've replaced/repaired the following...
- Diversity antenna
- Boot Hinge Wiring (right side only)
- 2 x ground straps on boot lid (grounds are connected between DA nuts & new ground wires)
- Car battery
- Key fob battery (emits signal)
- Fuses checked and replaced
- Door lock actuators replaced
The car is a 2009 LCI 320D E91. Non-comfort access. Can supply the VIN if needed.
Please advise; any help or suggestions are much, much, much appreciated.
I might be getting things wrong, so please correct me, ask questions, whatever it takes!
Thank you in advance.
