Time is short for my beloved E90🥹

I have a 2006 330D M-sport, which unfortunately may be coming close to the end of its days. I'm thinking of checking out the modern "equivalent", the G20 330e. Anyone here gone from a E90 330d to a G20 330e? How did this change work out for you?

I love my 20 year old 330d E90. The smooth power, the timeless classy looks, and most of all, the handling. The feel of the car is sweet! It really pains me to think of changing it out 🥹.

Having accepted my lot, I'm keen for "more of the same" in a more modern hybrid powerplant form, hence the interest in the 330e M-sport. The point that it's niggling me though, is comments that I have seen along the lines of more modern BMWs just not having the same raw driving feel. Perhaps I need to let go of the notion that I'll be getting a similar driving experience...

So anyone got any advice on this?

Any direct experience of having changed from e90 330d to g20 330e?

Suggestions for any other models hybrid or elec, that might satisfy my hankering for E90 driving experience?

I'll get a test drive and see how it goes. Appreciate any tips.

Cheers

"Bowls" cut in rock, south Ben Macdui

On the way up to Ben Macdui from the South side, having followed the Luibeg burn, I came upon a granite outcrop at around 950m. The odd thing was that there were two bowl-like features, side by side in the granite. The bowls were circa 20cm diameter, and about 10cm deep. They looked like handy water bowls for dogs.

Anyone know anything about the origins of the Ben Macdui bowls?
