Hey r/Kunming,

I’m Asher, a Yunnan local just back from 2 years in Malaysia (Master’s at UPM). My English got pretty fluent there, and honestly I miss the conversations.

When I lived in KL, I used to take travelers around for free in exchange for English practice and good company. Met some of the most interesting people of my life that way — a German backpacker, a couple from Argentina, a solo traveler from Iran. Still in touch with some of them.

Now I’m back in Kunming for a couple months and want to do the same here.

What I offer:

•	Show you around Kunming (Green Lake, Yuantong Temple, local food streets, places tourists usually miss)

•	Drive you to nearby spots if you’re up for it (Stone Forest, Dianchi Lake)

•	Translate, help you order food, navigate

•	Honest conversations about China, Yunnan, life

What I’d love in return:

•	Just speak English with me

•	Share where you’re from, what you’re up to

•	Maybe split lunch / gas if we go further
