Who Is Daniel McPhersons Father (research assistance request)
Please help, I am an armature and I keep hitting a brick wall and I’m not sure what my next steps are.
I need help tracing a specific ancestor, especially their parentage. Each time I think I have them nailed down it turns out to be someone different. The birth and death dates are as close to verified as I can get, since they have a tombstone and he was definitely married to Ruth Shires. Basically every time I think I have found out who Daniel McPhersons parents are it is disproven by DNA or is chronologically impossible. Additionally complicating this is the fact that there are at least two other men who migrated to the colonies around this time, and oral tradition dictates that Daniel McPherson did not migrate by choice but was deported for participating in the Jacobite Revolt.
