Phone May Be Broken, Help Me in Advance!
I accidentally dropped my phone (Google Pixel 7) in the sink this morning. I turned it off, tapped it against a towel for awhile and left it to dry. I am a bit worried it might not pull through as last year my screen died and I had to buy a replacement screen and have it installed by a local phone repair guy. He did a great job and honestly it was working fine for me. I just want to get ahead of my phone search just in case I get home and the phone is having issues.
I have no idea what phone to get anymore. I used to be a big fan of the Pixel series but I am not a huge fan of Google, haven't been for awhile. I also do not want to fiddle with Linux or anything like that. I have had to use iPhones as work phones in the past and find them annoying honestly + all the apps I've purchased are on the Google Play Store. I will stick Android but maybe not Pixel.
I value camera quality, longevity of the phone, battery life and... that's basically it? I don't do a lot on my phone other than take notes, take voice notes, take photos (I do like having RAW + JPG because I do edit my photos on my computer sometimes), stream music, watch YouTube and text. I use a minimalist launcher because I don't like when my phone has a bunch of things going on. I try to be off my phone as much as I can but do still fall into Instagram pits.
So... let me know lol, what phone should I get? I looked at the Fairphone recently and liked the message but all the reviews were poor so I'm not going to keep considering that one for now (Also, I'm in the US and I think it's rather hard to get those here?). My point being, I do value if something is sustainably made but I don't want a poor user experience either. I am also open to a Pixel if folks think that's just what I should stick with, that's fine too. Just trying to plan ahead in case I get home and my phone is shot 😞
