Hello all,

So, I find myself a little confused. I have a 2007 987.1 Cayman. It’s got the ASK amp, two speakers in door, two tweeters on dash, and two rear speakers.

In all the articles/forum posts I find is the spp has a center speaker?

Project part 1- replace head unit (boss audio) very similar to popular aliexpress model people use.

Project 2- I replaced the lower door speakers & dash tweeters with 6.5” component speakers (and tweeter) package. I replaced the mid bass with some 4” 2 ways speakers. I finish and realize it sounds like I’m in a tin can and the 6.5” woofers aren’t working.

Project 3- I replace ASK amp with the “recommended” sony XMS-400d. I bought a 20 pin connector from rensport. Wired it as I found via many forum posts. The only odd thing is the wire harness on car is not set up the same as any other harness I have seen. Colors same, location different. So I adapted.

AMP powered up. Still feel like im left with frankly shitty audio. Do the rear speakers add much? I figured I’d replace them when I did the interior trim painting. Maybe I’m missing something. Not sure pictures will help.

AMP-Sony XMS-400d
Head Unit- BOSS Audio BE62CP
Component speakers- Rockford Fosgate R165-S
Midbass- JBL GX428

I hate to have to do this, but if I was a buyer I would want to know. On April 12, I ordered a jar from grim grease. 2 weeks go by and it doesn’t ship. So I send an email asking status. No response. A week later I indicated in an email that I would be disputing with my credit card company if I didn’t get an update. I get a lengthy emailing from them stating my shipping label was misplaced, hence the delay. The sender indicated 2 things. I will make sure it’s shipped out TODAY and for your efforts I’ll add an extra can. So I respond, shit happens, thanks for getting it out.

Shocker.. about week later it hadn’t shipped. So I email, and shocker no response. It shows up finally today, one month after initial order. The extra kicker No extra jar as mentioned by them.

My second order, ever. But unfortunately the last. I’m good with small businesses and extra time needed but this was a total failure on many levels.
