Best pomade for wave hair ? More info below

I have curly/wavy thick hair that seems to suck up pomade and dry out I want it to go tight with a medium or high shine and essentially want to slick it back and hold it straight not come loose and curly after 4 hours also i want water based

Currently use layrite max hold pomade but falls out and looks greasy and falls out I can’t just wet the hair and redo it because water makes it Afro. Once the wind hits the hold is gone

Petition to make Lodestar Sol permanent, its amazing

After the best part of a year and a half looking for a hair product that works for my middle of the neck length super straight, super dense but individually thin hair. Sol works perfectly! Nothing has came close as good for me! This is far too good to be seasonal! Please make it permanent

Hair products not holding my hair in place

I have quite thick and straight hair and so far tested many types of hair gel. During daily usage it works to an acceptable level but when it comes to training and running hair suddenly starts moving all over like it's not fixed at the first place.

I don't want to cut my hair short either just to make it work therefore needing help and suggestions

Thanks to everyone in advance

Worthy

In the last post, I asked you guys about American Crew's and Jack The Barber's products. While I am still wondering whether I should buy them, another good deal appears. Both The Hermit and Black Kraken take me only 21$. Sounds crazy doesn't it😂. The Black Kraken is still about 80% intact, while The Hermit is 100% complete. I feel incredibly lucky to have found them at this time, as both of these items have been out of sale in my country for about two years now.

So, what do you think of those two products? How should I use them to get the best results on my hair? I have a Modern Quiff hairstyle, my hair is straight, about 8-9cm long, and has a medium-to-thick density.

(The other jar is the Maelstrom Styling Clay, which I used last winter and really loved its performance, from the scent to the hold🤍.)

Daily use and how to remove hair products

Ive heard shampooing daily is extremely bad for your hair. The products I use I hear is not washable with just water and using conditioner only can lead to buildup as well?

I mainly use Gatsby Pink hairwax but have slowly stopped using that daily because I hear its not possible to remove without shampoo. Switched over to L3 Level 3 Black Texture powder but now hearing differing answers as to whether that is washable with just water. Google claims Slick Gorilla Hair Styling Powder is easy to wash out? Anyone have experience with these products and how do you wash out product without damaging your hair?

What kind of product(s) makes fine hair look this thick and full and kind of wet-looking?

I am struggling to figure out how to word this (struggled with the title too)... Brad Pitt has very fine hair strands but incredibly dense hair. What kind of products would someone use to create a style like that... it looks thicker and textured and has the look of a lot of product, it almost looks almost kind of wet? Again, struggling to find the words.

I have the exact same hair type and have no clue how to make the hair look like that + get that much volume at that length of hair.

And yes, I know Brad Pitt is incredibly handsome, I've read all the "it's not about the hair, it's about the face" comments any post about Brad Pitt's hair gets.

Is it literally pomade? Maybe gel?

Is this mold

I bought this today. And if it is mold can I scoop out the mold and then use it or should I return it?

Looking for Moroccanoil Texture Clay alternatives for dry hair

I have extremely dry hair and the moroccanoil texture clay dries it out even further.
Any clay recommendations that are similar to this product that are -

  1. Easy to wash out with just water (unlike oil-based)
  2. Same or stronger hold
  3. Moisturizes the hair rather than drying it out even further
  4. Humidity Resistant

Style: Messy side-part hairstyle
Hairtype: Dry, frizzy wavy hair

Thanks !

Sea salt for slick back?

Hi guys,

I’m wanting to have a nice slick back, I’ve heard that sea salt first can be good to help hold? Either that or a light hold pre styler? I’ll be using it with Layrite cement

Thanks

Is texture powder bad for you

I been testing out different styling products I have straight hair not perfectly straight. I used different products gel, wax, clay etc. I recently started texture powder and it looks so good give me some volume and styles nicely is it bad to use this daily or 2 days a week compared to a clay (my current styling products) I love the look the powder gives.

Also is there any powder people recommend the one I used was by nish man.

New Samson's Dead Sea Clay is far too loose?

Hey y'all,

I ordered a new jar (jar? is that the right word? tub?) of Samson's Dead Sea Clay recently, and when I opened it this morning its consistency was very loose. Almost liquid. It's the second jartub I've bought, and the first was exactly what I'd expect out of a clay pomade. I'm not sure if this one got too hot when it was traveling through the mail, and sort of melted? Or if it's just a defective batch? The melting theory would make more sense if I'd just grabbed it from the mailbox right before using it, but it's been sitting, unopened, on my bathroom counter for more than a week. So unless it simply doesn't return to its original consistency after heating up, I can't imagine that's the culprit. Regardless, I do find myself wondering if throwing it in the refrigerator for a bit might help. Anyone know much about this sort of thing? I was going to reach out directly to Samson's, but near as I can tell there's no way to contact them. (Which is fine, I get the impression they're an extremely small outfit.)

unscented pomade? / hair products

I've been getting into doing brush outs/wet sets- but I'm extremely sensitive to using scented products. Headaches like clockwork. And I finally got of the water based suavecita pomade and I really like the way it makes my hair look. I thought I couldn't know if would give me a headache until i got it... but I am thinking I need to find a unscented alternative. So I've come to ask- what unscented options are there for products for this kinda styling.

Mr Bear Family Matt Clay Golden Ember Review

Mr Bear Family Matt Clay is what the name suggests. It is a medium hold matte clay that is pretty easy to work with. The brand is out of Sweden and I was able to pick this up as well as Honest Al’s Matt Clay which is very similar and also made by Mr Bear Family. Both have all natural ingredients, bentonite, kaolin, and many other good stuff.

As stated, it is a medium hold that works into the hair very easily. The scoop comes out with very little pressure and the breakdown is effortless.

The website says the scent is, “Light smoke subtly integrated in noble wooden accords rounded off with spicy, oriental nuances.” The scent is very nice, not overwhelming, and it does seem to hold its scent for a good portion of the day.

Application is very easy with almost no pull. I apply a tiny amount to towel dry hair before hitting it with the blow dryer and adding more afterwards.

There isn’t as much texture as I would like and personally. I also like a little bit more hold. These are personal takes and should not be used as a detriment to the product. The hold does last alright throughout the day, however, I live in a very hot, dry, and windy environment.

The product is a water based, but I noticed it takes a bit of shampoo to get the product completely out of my hair.

Overall, I really enjoy this product and would definitely get another can. NI live in the United States and it does seem hard to find here. If you’re in Europe, I would definitely give it a try. The company tries really hard to keep ingredients clean and natural. They also work with barbershops to create products such as Honest Al’s which is a barbershop in Stockholm (definitely recommend checking them out if you’re in the area). I’ll probably review their clay at some point, but it may be a bit redundant due to it being so similar.

Cream, powder or matte paste?

I have very thick hair, that gets greasy easily if I use too much product. I need a good holding/ styling product or something I can use in the morning to make my flatter hair better.

I have used wax but that was too heavy, I use sea salt spray but it doesn't do much, and I've tried volume foam but it doesn't do much too and it makes my hair greasy.

I've heard cream is good for holding and you apply it on damp hair so that would be easier, or powder is good for quickly adding volume? I think adding stuff on as my hair is wet would be better as it wouldn't make my hair look greasy. I want a matt finish and not shiny. If anyone could suggest any products or brands that would be great! Im a beginner and in struggling to find the right ones.

Preferably off Amazon as in going away on Friday. I have seen got2b beach matte paste? Or got2b volume powder? Preferably something not too expensive because im a student and if it doesn't work then I can't do anything else with it.

I am trying to get a flow middle part hairstyle that stays like that as my hair is so thick and heavy it just flops down. I've had it thinned slightly but now it's gone even more floppy because there's not enough hair under it to lift it better. The whole left side of my hair sits completely different to my right no matter my hairstyle too.

I've found that when I use holding spray, even when it's been a day, I go to sleep a and wake up and my hair is standing straight up and won't go down unless I dampen it.
