Has anyone done the Moby Sweater Man by Petite Knit?

I'm working on the front yoke and the pattern states "work rows 1 and 2 until the front yoke is exactly 10 rows longer than the back yoke, counted from where sts were picked up and knitted for the shoulders, while making sure that the last row on the front yoke is the same row of the pattern as the last row on the back yoke".

However, the mock cable pattern is a repeat of 16 rows - I ended the back yoke at row 2WS (18 rows total for back yoke), and working ten rows further puts me at row 12WS, which puts me at a different row of the mock cable pattern. Should I work 6 more rows to get back to row 2WS, or do as the pattern says and end at 12WS but then it's a different row in the pattern?
