Hey, looking for a timeline for flank pain after stent removal. I removed the stent myself (with permission from the hospital I had been admitted into) this past Wednesday. Since then, I get occasional bouts of pain in my side/back basically on-par with what I had before they blasted my stone lasting up to an hour and a half. I was told these spasms would be normal, but for how long? I’m trying to get into a follow up appointment asap, but have been waiting for the hospital to fax my medical records over.

i’ve had a stent in since this past thursday after they broke up my kidney stone. they have it attached to a string, which is relatively long and “taped” to my front with tegaderm. the problem lies with this string; no matter how i try and reposition it, it digs into my labia minora. they are so swollen and itchy beyond all hell. i think they are cut up from it too, maybe. has anyone else had this issue? does anyone have any tips? i’m waiting on a post-op appointment, as i had to schedule in my home town rather than take the appointment four hours away back near campus where this all started, so simply removing the stent isn’t an option for me.
