vitiligo spreading on my genitals for 2 years and I’m honestly losing it. is this normal??
first off can I just say the photos people post in here are genuinely beautiful. seeing everyone’s journeys actually makes me feel less alone in this so thank you all for sharing.
ok so I’ve had vitiligo down there (genital area) for about 2 years now and it just keeps creeping into new spots. every time I look it feels like there’s more and I’m starting to spiral a bit ngl. I’ve got a derm appointment but it’s not til August and the wait is killing me. terrified it’s gonna spread everywhere before I even get seen.
the thing that does my head in is that area literally never sees sunlight so why is it even showing up there?? anyone know why that happens?
few things I’m desperate to hear from people who’ve actually been through this:
• has anyone genuinely had success treating it in the genital area? like did it actually work for you
• if you treat it there can it still keep spreading or does treatment usually stop it
• what meds are people on for this in Europe? trying to get an idea before my appt
• has anyone tried UVB on their genitals?? was it worth it or is that a terrible idea
also is slow spreading like this just the normal way it goes or can it suddenly take off out of nowhere. and is there literally anything I can do in the meantime to slow it down because sitting here watching it get worse is rough.
any links to products or papers would be hugely appreciated too, I’ll take all the reading I can get.
I’m in Ireland btw so if there’s anything I can actually get my hands on here that’d be amazing.
