Best apps to use if on holiday from abroad
I'm on holiday from Australia and having hired an EV here in the UK, I've encountered app problems. My Australian EV charging apps don't work here and I can't use most of the UK main charging apps (Gridserve, SmartCharge, BpPulse, ShellRecharge etc) because PlayStore has me in Australia and will not let me download them saying "not available in your country" or the like.
I was starting to panic until I realised that there are a couple of apps in the UK which seem to act as agents for the main charging suppliers. So far I've found Octopus Electroverse and Zapmap. I've successfully downloaded these and added a payment card and did charge successfully using one of them a couple of days ago. These "agent" apps don't seem to cost any more than if you were using the charging station operator's app.
But I was wondering if there are any more "agent" apps of this type that would be useful to download. If they work well, it would seem much more convenient to use them rather than using the charging station operator's app, because it appears that there are about a hundred charging station operators here and it would be very inconvenient to have all those apps. It's different in Australia where there are only a handful of charging station operators (it's therefore easier there to juggle the apps).
