Nobody told me perimenopause would do this to my skin and I feel completely blindsided

I'm 38 and for the last year or so I've noticed my skin just doesn't behave the way it used to. it's not dramatic aging it's more subtle than that. the texture feels different, it looks dull no matter how much sleep I get and it just doesn't bounce back the way it used to after a bad week. I mentioned it to my doctor almost as an afterthought and she said perimenopause can start affecting skin in your late 30s because estrogen levels start fluctuating and collagen production slows down. I genuinely had no idea.

I feel like there's so much information about menopause but the years leading up to it feel like this weird undiscussed territory where your body is changing and nobody prepared you for it, for women who have been through this or are going through it now, when did you first notice your skin changing and what helped? I'm not even sure what I'm looking for yet I just feel like I'm figuring this out completely alone
