Anyone else know the basics but struggle to build projects from scratch?”

I understand the basics of frontend development — HTML, CSS, JavaScript fundamentals, data types, DOM, ES6, React basics, components, props, state, hooks, APIs, etc.

I can usually understand code when I read it or follow tutorials, but when I try to build something on my own, my mind goes completely blank. I don’t know where to start or how to structure things.

Also, is this level of knowledge enough to apply for frontend internships, or should I learn more before applying?

Did any seniors or self-taught devs face this phase too? How did you overcome it and start building projects confidently?
