My first gaming PC

Hi everyone,
I’m building my first gaming PC and I’ve already bought the following components:

CPU: Intel Core i9-14900KF
Motherboard: MSI MPG Z790 EDGE TI MAX WIFI (DDR5)
PSU: Corsair SF850 (2024), 850W, 80+ Platinum, ATX 3.1 / PCIe 5.1

I’m now trying to figure out the best way to complete the build. I’m relatively new to PC building, so I’d really appreciate some advice on compatibility and what components would make the most sense with what I already have.

My main goal is high-quality 1440p gaming, preferably at high/ultra settings with high FPS. I’d like the system to be powerful and reasonably future-proof rather than buying parts that I’ll want to replace again soon.

In particular, I need recommendations for:

Graphics card – probably the biggest thing I’m unsure about. What GPU would you pair with a 14900KF for 1440p?
DDR5 RAM – capacity, speed and timings
CPU cooler/AIO – especially since I understand the 14900KF can run quite hot
NVMe SSD/storage
PC case with good airflow and enough space for everything

Any additional fans/accessories I should consider
And eventually a good 1440p high-refresh-rate monitor

I’d also appreciate it if someone could point out any compatibility issues with the parts I’ve already purchased, particularly the PSU size/cables, motherboard, cooler, case and whichever GPU I end up choosing.

I’m not necessarily looking for the absolute cheapest build. I’d rather spend sensibly on good-quality components that complement each other without wasting money on things that won’t make a noticeable difference in gaming.

If you were completing this build yourself in 2026, what exact parts would you buy?

Thanks!
