I had been searching for the Colorbar Haute Latte lipstick for my mother for MONTHS because it’s discontinued everywhere.

I finally found a seller on Reddit: u/u\_bad\_bad.

Timeline of what happened:

• She initially said another buyer had “booked” it but hadn’t paid yet.
• I immediately agreed to buy it at her asking price of ₹410 + ₹42 India Post shipping.
• I did ZERO negotiation despite literally everyone negotiating on Reddit sales posts.
• I paid her within minutes because I had clarified multiple times that the lipstick was UNUSED.

She delayed shipping from Saturday → Monday → Tuesday. I said okay no problem EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I even offered to pay extra and cover 100% of the extra shipping charges for faster shipping because this was important to me. I WANTED TO GIFT IT TO MY MOM. IM SORRY FOR TRYING TO MAKE HER HAPPY.

Despite agreeing to express shipping, she still shipped via normal India Post and blamed “election voting issues.”

Parcel finally arrived on 25th May.

Thankfully, I made an unboxing video.

The SECOND I opened the lipstick, there was product all over the stopper and wand. It was clearly opened/used.

When confronted, she first said:
“My roommate shipped it while I was in Kolkata.”
Then:
“My roommate opened it only to check the shade.”
Then later admitted:
“Yeah I guess she lied.”

To her credit, she DID refund the lipstick amount after I showed proof.

However:

Since the fault was entirely from her side, we agreed IN WRITING that she would reimburse the ₹102 return shipping cost after pickup was done.

I even arranged the pickup myself through Shiprocket because she wouldn’t do it.

I kept updating her politely throughout the return process.

The moment pickup was completed and I requested the agreed ₹102 reimbursement, she suddenly changed her stance and said:

• “Shipping is non refundable.”
• “Why would I pay so much?”
• “I’ll only pay ₹60.”
• “Other sellers don’t refund before receiving products.”
• “Where’s your packing video?”
• “How do I know you returned the original product?”

Mind you:
• She had already agreed to ₹102 in chat.
• I had already sent pickup proof.
• I had packed the lipstick MORE securely than how I received it.
• I even had an 8-minute packing video ready!!!!!!

Only AFTER multiple arguments and after I split/sent portions of the packing video did she finally send the remaining amount, while also sending passive aggressive messages like:
“Keep the 2 rupees you saved btw.” Like what the actual hell????

This entire experience was exhausting for literally ₹102 that SHE had already agreed to.

Main issues:
• Item described as unused but arrived used/opened
• Constant changing of explanations
• Repeated shipping delays
• Changed agreed refund terms later
• Tried to guilt/manipulate over asking for agreed reimbursement

Again: yes, I eventually received the money.

But buyers and sellers should know how this transaction was handled because the process became UNNECESSARILY DIFFICULT despite me being extremely cooperative FROM START TO FINISH.

I had been ON THE HUNT for the Charlotte Tilbury Setting Spray since months!!
