Leathercraft vacation ideas in Europe?

Hello everyone,

I am looking for some vacation ideas in relation to leatherwork in Europe. Some years ago, I did some simple leathercraft (mainly belts, some bags and some wallets) and I would like to pick it up again. However, I am the type of person that needs some motivation to get in the flow of doing something, so I was thinking of doing a leatherwork course friendly for beginners or people with little experience.

My idea of the vacation would be to do some leathercraft in the morning or afternoon and the rest of the day I have some time left for sightseeing. The duration of the course would be ideally roughly 1 week. Does anyone know if these kinds of courses are available in Europe?

Is it possible to set up the plugins repo from a sharepoint folder or Azure repo?

I asked this question also on stack overflow but I wanted to get other input as well.

We are looking for a way to set up a plugin repository from a SharePoint folder or an Azure repository. This would allow all users whether they are working in the virtual environment or directly on their (managed) laptops to access the plugin, since our laptops do not have access to network drives. Our managed laptop and as well the virtual environment, everything is configured by a technical team at our organization. So I can't just install apps and anything else. Since we have access to Sharepoint and azure repo, I wanted to look whether it's possible to store the plugin repository from azure or sharepoint.

My idea is to reference the plugins.xml file stored on Azure repo or SharePoint in the qgis_global_settings.ini file. The plugins.xml would then point to the download URL on Azure repo or SharePoint and will be made available in the plugin manager.

Does anyone know if this is possible in QGIS and how to approach it?

Which gis formats are most useful in qgis (vector)?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to make a gis workshop for my colleagues and one my colleague asked which formats are preferable to use?

Below follows my current understandings and experiences

Geopackage is an open standard and it's possible to have attributes that are longer than 10 characters and seems more useful than shapefiles in that regard.

Shapefiles are not preferable since you need several files. If you lose one of the files then you can't successfully import the shapefile. Another downside is that you can only have attributes with a maximum 10 character length like I mentioned above

Geosjson, I don't have much experience with it. Based on googling it appears that it's an open standard. I would not know if there are more benefits/downsides to using geosjson than other formats.

We also have CSV and Excel files and based on my experience, I would say it's fairly useful for points and at our organisation everyone has access to excel, so that's a big plus. However a big no for lines or polygons.

WFS and WMS are useful, since the source is for everyone the same and WFS/WMS is easily accessible.

Database connections seem also useful, however you can accidentally change the source which is not always expected and sometimes you don't want everyone to access databases

Based on my understandings I would assume that Geopackage, WFS/WMS would be mostly useful gis formats in qgis and if you only need points then also CSV files.

Please correct me if I am wrong
