In 2019, I worked at a company where we did a “bake off” like competition to raise money. The expectations were:
Follow the theme and do not use store-bought cakes.
Our theme for this year was animals and myself like an idiot - “I have pink icing! I’ll make a pig”.

there is cheese on there, that's the sad amount the employee gave us, there was no option for salsa or cheese sauce of any sorts, no sauce cause no sauce sounded good on nachos except for salsa or cheese sauce (which they didn't have) (also they did have Chipotle sauce but I have a very low spice tolerance, sorry) and the toppings where chosen by the person i was sharing it with, idk why they got cucumber but they were paying so I let it slide, the main thing I'm annoyed about is that there looks like there's 2x chips and 3x cheese in the picture (the promo pic) that was not given to us, and it would have costed extra to get more cheese or chips on it.
let’s just say… the venue saved the day.

2024 Quinceañera cake.

I got married yesterday and it was the most perfect day. Everything went according to plan except for the cake design, which I could care less about at this point because it was delicious, but I thought you would enjoy this comparison.
Back in January, we went to a wedding expo where a local bakery (well-known, been in business a long time and branching out into trying to do more weddings) had a booth where they gave out samples. The samples were delicious and they specialize in a cake style/flavor that is culturally relevant to my (now) husband’s family heritage. So we knew immediately we wanted to book them.
I sent them my inspo photo (the first photo), which they assured me they could replicate. I told them we wanted daisies in the design to symbolize our Dog Daisy, but that I wanted it done stylistically and elegantly like in my inspo photo. The other change I requested was that they incorporate our wedding colors.
They did use our wedding colors (although their colors are very vibrant when I asked for soft colors) and they did make daisies, as you can see in the second photo. It’s just not at all in the style I was hoping for. But that was literally all that went “wrong” yesterday and the cake itself was still delicious!
Today’s my 32nd birthday 🎂 and I ordered myself a cute little cake! Found inspiration on Pinterest, and found a little home baker. Super excited to eat some later! Just wanted to share 🥰

My friend bought me this kit, and I knew it was not going to be great. The image on the box looked like it was made by someone who had never knit before, so I thought, surely I can do better. I was so, so wrong. I followed the instructions and ended up with whatever this is.
My brother is a huge AC milan fan, so I ordered this customized cake for his birthday. It was a huge hit! 😊

Update: It was a small cake that served 8 people, and I paid $75. She had previously made a cake for my daughter, and she did an amazing job, so I was really happy to order from her again.
Unfortunately, this cake wasn’t quite what I expected, especially considering the price. That being said, it was delicious! I just wish she would have let me know beforehand if she wasn’t able to do the design I requested. I would have been completely happy to choose a different design that she felt more comfortable creating.

I got these cheap at the store and was gobsmacked at how gross they looked. My kids wouldn't touch them. The taste wasn't bad, honestly. They just have a very unfortunate look to them, like they'd been rolled around in some charcoal dust. Photo 2 is frozen, photo 3 is out of the oven.
