I finally finished my passion project: A free cricket simulation game called CRICKET LEGENDS - RANDO XI

Hey everyone! I’m usually just lurking around here, but I finally managed to actually finish a project I’ve been chipping away at, and I couldn't wait to share it with you all.

As a massive cricket nerd, I’ve always been obsessed with random-draft style games (massive shoutout to 500-0.com and the classic sim/fantasy games). I really wanted to create my own flavor of that.

Instead of carefully plotting out your dream XI, you have to "Rando" your way through. I built this engine that randomly drops a squad from different eras—ODI, Test, T20I, or IPL. You pick one player at a time, and once you lock them in, there’s no going back. It genuinely adds a fun layer of tension to every single spin.

Honestly, the part I’m most proud of is the simulation itself. I really didn't want it to be a boring "higher rating automatically wins" calculator. I spent a lot of time tweaking a statistical model where run-scoring and dismissal chances are calculated completely separately.

I also threw in some daily "form" variance, which means, A 95-rated superstar can genuinely nick off early on a bad day or An average underdog can suddenly play the innings of a lifetime.

I wanted it to capture the unpredictable magic of actual cricket, rather than just feeling like a dressed-up spreadsheet.

I built this entire thing as a solo developer, though I leaned heavily on a few AI tools to help me write the code and bring the vision to life. It’s been an incredible learning journey. Because this is just a pure passion project, the game is completely free no paywalls, and absolutely no annoying ads.

You can play it here:

I would genuinely love your thoughts. Please tear it apart—let me know about any bugs, balance issues, or if you think a certain player is way too OP. Please DM of you want to support me.

Are the cold opens planned?

I revisited this True crime efisode, it was a live one. Look at the time stamp where aadar says "let's start with ratnagiri" twice and they start the live, following which bawa starts sharing his story in ratnagiri, the blue villas story for the ones who remember.

Aren't these cold opens impromptu if I haven't mistaken? Just asking..
