Cats eating birds inside my building
I need some advice. I live in an apartment in a large villa, and one of the neighbors on the ground floor has been feeding stray cats. I don't want to stop anyone from feeding animals, I used to appreciate that she's trying to help but the number of cats has grown significantly.
They're now very large, and they've started hunting birds inside the building. Almost every time I enter the building, I see blood, feathers, and sometimes what smells like dead animals. It's becoming unpleasant and, honestly, a bit frightening with so many cats gathering around the entrance.
Today, I walked out of my apartment and found the cats eating a bird. There was blood all over the floor. It was heartbreaking to witness.
The problem is that our building management is extremely unresponsive. They rarely reply to complaints, even about basic issues like residents leaving shoes and machines in the hallways despite the contract clearly stating that these aren't allowed. Even maintenance requests can take days to be addressed, so I don't have much confidence that reporting this will lead to any action.
I don't want the cats to go hungry, but I also don't think the current situation is sustainable for the cats, the birds, or the residents. Is there a responsible way to handle this? Has anyone dealt with something similar or have any suggestions?
