Finally got some time to pretty much finish this ramp truck

It's been sitting while i did a buuuunch of stuff around the house and work got pretty busy. It's pretty well finished so i can move on. The model itself kind of sticks when it came to fitup and i didn't do enough pre-fitting before going to assembly with it.

Learned a lot though. Things like "test your paint and clear," "fit up everything before painting any of it" and "take your time"

That said, i line how the decals came out. The ones on the cab doors i had chatgpt help me with, then i printed them on clear decal paper. "NOT LAST" was my fake racing organization when i was sim racing in leagues during the pandemic and for a while after. Next up is the Tamiya AMG GT which is what I raced in the leagues.

Thanks to all of you guys who post and ask questions or give tips. Lots of those posts helped me out with this pain in the butt build.

The Wedge Progress

I think I'm about to the decal point. This kit is a pain. So many parts didn't fit right or at all. I'm ready to move on to something else.

Headlights?

What do you guys do with headlights that are molded into the chrome grille instead of the reflectors molded in with separate clear parts for the lenses?

I was considering drilling them out and then making reflectors, but what would I do for lenses?

Racer's Wedge Progress

It's been slow going but i think I'm finally making progress on this thing. Need to do up the trim, make some side mirrors and hinges for the box doors. Underneath, it needs exhaust and a driveshaft even though this is going to be more curbside than not.

OK, those might be a bit small

USB-C for scale, since I don't have any banana jacks.

3D printed some 1:25 scale #10-32 bolts.

I was watching A4 Garage on YouTube and he was using these small "rivets" that I couldn't find in stock anywhere. Figured I would print some myself.

Pretty sure I won't be using these for anything. Still surprised that they printed.

So I got a new bottle of super glue...

There I was, all happy that it arrived, and I go to cut the tip off the bottle. I completely forgot that i live at 6500ft. The glue just started spraying across my work table. I can't even take this apart to repaint the pieces. I'll have to reprint both.

Be careful with your super thin CA glue, friends.

Finally had some time and energy to make some progress on my Racer's Wedge. I was able Toto get some fillers in for the forwarded axle. Scabs are on the outside because the sides of the ramp are thinner than the sheet plastic i have.

Wheels and tires are 3D printed dually wheels. I still have decided on a color for the whole thing yet.
