Going out in the Summer

Hey everyone! I'm a 21 yr old college student from another big party school coming in this summer for an internship and was curious about the nightlife scene. I know WVU is known for being a party school during the semester, but what's it like in the summer when most students are gone?

I like to wind down on weekends by going out for drinks and I'd love to know if there are any solid bars or spots worth checking out. Are the bars still active or does the whole scene basically die down once the school year ends?

Also, I'll be coming in not knowing many people, so if anyone is around this summer and down to go out on the weekends, feel free to drop a comment or shoot me a DM! Always down to meet new people and explore the area together.

Any recommendations or tips from locals or people who've spent a summer there would be super appreciated. Thanks!

First e-scooter for a 3 mile hilly commute, ~$400-500 budget. What should I get?

Hey all, looking for some help. I'm moving to Morgantown WV for a summer internship and plan to commute on an e-scooter instead of dealing with bus + walking in WV summer heat or paying for a car I don't really need.

Here's what I'm working with:

- 3 mile commute each way, about 6 miles daily

- Morgantown is genuinely hilly, so I need real torque (reading at least 250-300W minimum, probably more)

- Has to be foldable. I'm subleasing and want to bring it inside, no theft risk

- Budget is around $400, can stretch to $500 if it's actually worth it

- I'll be riding in summer heat (85-95F + humidity) so I'd rather not be pushing it hard

- Total newbie, never owned one before

I've been looking at Xiaomi and Segway Ninebot as the obvious starting points but I have no idea which specific model actually makes sense. Would love to hear what's working for people with similar use cases, especially anyone dealing with hills.

Also open to brands I haven't heard of if they're better value. Thanks!
