Cat Acted Completely Normal But Suddenly Keeled Over and Passed Away
Hello, first time posting here. I am not asking for treatment advice as the cat already passed away. I just want to know if the described situation is unusual.
A relative's cat suddenly died. She was acting completely normal prior to the situation. As far as they know she was acting her usual self and eating normally before it happened. She was sitting in her owner's lap, perked up as if she saw a mouse (they live in the country and mice sometimes run through the walls), jumped down and darted towards something, then stopped mid run and collapsed. She just suddenly stopped breathing, voided her bladder, did not react to stimuli (pupils had no reaction to light), and became cold. There seemed to be no warning. She was about 13 years old we think and lived entirely indoors. Is this unusual? I guess she could have had a heart attack or something, but it was just so sudden and surprising, as if turning off a light switch.
She had a good life overall and we deeply loved her.
