How Long Does It Usually Take You?
I am still relatively new to the game, I'm on my first playthrough, and I've unlocked the hub tiers entirely through tier 4, currently building a factory for Automated Wiring for the Space Elevator, then will unlock the next Phase.
My question is, how long does it actually take you to build a basic factory?
As I mentioned, I am currently in the middle of a factory build of a Motor Factory, as well as an Automated Wiring Factory.
It's nothing fancy, it is only to produce 10 motors and 5 automated wiring units per minute. (I have no idea how much I need, but can expand later if needed).
I don't do anything visually impressive. They are always just flat expanses, all on a single level as I am still coming to grips with what I actually need, so it ends up a bit convoluted as I never give myself enough space.
But this factory build has been a minimum of 3 hours, and it's still not even finished. This is including the time taken to get the resources to the factory. All I have left to do is connect machines together with conveyors, and connect up power, but I'm expecting that to take another hour (if it goes well without any errors).
As someone who only gets an hour a day (if I'm lucky) to play, it feels like it is very slow going.
I'm not complaining, it feels quite meditative and I enjoy building a factory, but I do get a bit overwhelmed sometimes and am not sure if I'm actually playing well.
I have considered blueprints, but I never know what I need before I am in the thick of it, so to stop and build a blueprint feels pointless.
I do use Satisfactory Tools before I start a factory, so I know what I need. At the start of a build I have a layout plan, but they always need to be adapted as the build goes on for one reason or another.
