My oven advertises 275°C (527°F) but drops to 240°C (464°F) after 10 minutes

So I've got a Bosch induction furnace (HLN39A050U) and I specifically bought it for baking pizza at high temps. The oven is rated to 275°C (527°F), I set it to 275°C, it gets there… and then after about 10 minutes it just drops back down to 240°C and stays there.

Turns out this is a "safety feature", which I only found out about buried in the fine print of the user manual. Nowhere on the product listing or the box does it say "btw you can't actually sustain the max temperature this thing is rated for." Feels pretty misleading tbh.

I get that there's a thermal cutout protecting the components, but then why advertise 275°C (527°F) at all? Just call it a 240°C (464°F) oven.

Anyway a couple of questions:

  1. **How do you work around it for pizza?** How do you guys deal with it if your oven does this too?
  2. Are there any freestanding ovens that actually sustain their max temp without this cutback?

Thanks

Hey, I’m having a really weird issue with my Valve Index and I’m running out of ideas, so I wanted to ask here before I assume something is broken.

My Index was working fine at first setup. When I first connected it, it actually worked normally and showed my desktop when Direct Mode was off (so the display over DisplayPort was definitely working). I was able to continue setup and everything seemed fine.

About an hour later, after I had mounted my base stations and didn’t change any cables or anything, the headset suddenly stopped being detected.

Now SteamVR just says “Please plug in your VR headset” even though everything is still connected.

Some context on the cable: it’s not heavily used. I bought it about 1.5 years ago, but I’ve only used it maybe 5 times total because I didn’t have a proper setup during moving, so it’s mostly just been stored in its box.

What still works:

  • Windows detects the USB connection (USB connect sound plays when plugged in)
  • Device Manager shows it as USB Composite Device
  • The headset can still show my desktop when Direct Mode is disabled (so DisplayPort output works in monitor mode)
  • Webcam seems to work when opening camera app

What does NOT work:

  • SteamVR does not detect the headset at all
  • Direct Mode doesn’t work anymore
  • It also doesn’t get detected on a second PC

Things I’ve already tried:

  • Reconnecting all cables (USB, DisplayPort, power, breakaway connector)
  • Different USB ports on two different PCs
  • Restarting both PCs multiple times
  • Reinstalling SteamVR completely
  • Removing SteamVR USB devices and resetting SteamVR settings
  • Deleting SteamVR config and driver folders
  • Renaming/rebuilding SteamVR driver files
  • Resetting GPU driver state (Win + Ctrl + Shift + B)
  • Updating AMD drivers
  • Testing on a second PC (So my PC with AMD and GFs PC with NVIDIA both same issue)

Has anyone seen this kind of “USB works but SteamVR refuses to detect headset + monitor mode still works” situation before?
