How to get your baby to sleep on their own

My baby just turned 17 weeks (4 months old officially) today. He usually falls asleep easily when I nurse him, for naps and night time. I know I should be starting to train him to sleep on his own and put him in his bassinet when he’s drowsy but not sleepy. Unfortunately I always nurse him after a bath and he’ll sleep quickly afterwards. There’s usually no time between bath, nurse and sleep, it happens all at once immediately.
How can I get him to be drowsy while not suckling on me? And get him to not be upset that I took his food source away?

After he falls asleep on me while nursing, I’ll transfer him to the bassinet and then he’ll wake up soon after crying. I always have to pick him up, pat his butt or nurse him to get him to quiet down and put him back in the bassinet. This usually happens 3-5 times before he’ll sleep for a few hours.

We usually put him down around 8pm and he’ll wake up around 11pm, 1am, 3:30am, 5:30am to poop, and then 7am to be awake for the day.

He usually takes between 3-4 naps in a day, 9am, 12pm, 3pm and 5pm
