Music teacher might be crossing the line
For some context, I am a 42yr old female who has always loved music and now as I have been on a stable job for a while I took the chance of learning how to play a musical instrument. I found a tutor with good references near my area and it was going very well. Never felt awkward or unsafe around him and he often mentioned his wife. I too have a partner whom I have been very happy with. Things started getting a bit weird a couple months back when he started saying in class that he listened to such and such song and ‘thought of me’ - I thought it was a language barrier as I am not a native speaker of English but he kept saying that (including a mention to a movie soundtrack and when I checked the songs were all really romantic, which gave me the ick). On top of that, he started texting outside business hours, on weekends. It’s usually to reschedule a class (but attempts to use words in my native language in his reply), to share some social media stuff (which kinda hints to me that he’s trying to get me to add him) or to talk about a concert or some random stuff. It’s stuff we could casually and easily address when talking in class. I have not replied to him on the weekends and sent him a short answer on Monday. He also name drops a lot, usually unrelated to the lesson and clearly attempting to impress me. This is becoming a bit off putting but am unsure if I am overreacting.
Thanks ☺️
