Second self tat

Instagram: @cal.in.the.clouds
My second time tatting myself. After like 5-6 hours hunched over my own leg, foot going cold, back and hip aching, and entire leg cramping. I still don’t consider it done.
I wanted to add a bit more variety to line thickness of the flowers and and pack black into some of the corners a bit better. But then my machine finally died and I took that as a sign.
Overworked a little bit of it forcing I me to leave it unsaturated in an area or two. And slight blowouts in some spots from the colour packing. Which I did entirely with a 7rs 😭.
Really my main issue was just the angle. Not the most comfortable spot to tattoo.

But with all that being said…
I am still really happy with it. :D
It is entirely my design. Flowers weren’t referenced so they’re made up but if you can think of what they might look like let me know.

Probably going to do one more small tat on myself before moving onto tatting someone else.
All feedback and advice is welcome :)

Also I’m healing this one without second skin for the first time to see how it scabs and where I may have overworked it.

First self tat

Thought it was about time I got around to tattooing myself. So tired of fake skin and oranges. Honestly if it weren’t for me starting to practice on oranges I don’t think it would’ve come out so clean. Fake skin feels incredibly different to real skin and requires me to go much deeper to get clean lines. As convenient as it is I don’t see myself using it much more in future. Oranges have been great because of the round surface and they taught me to go much shallower. Not saying that oranges feel much like skin either 😂.
Let me know what you think tho and if you have any feedback or advice.
I really enjoyed the process which is great cause I’ve been losing drive to practice recently. Now we just have to see how it heals
