She carries it well…

Things you know nothing about.
The one that keeps the family together.
The rescuer.
The cook.
The caretaker.
The mother.
Ms independent.
She’ll wipe your tears, kiss your wounds, talk you through a rough day.
She is under constant stress and yet always finds a smile for a stranger.
Her responsibilities are heavy to the point she almost collapses underneath it all.
Still she smiles.
Still she acts as if nothing is wrong.
Still she carry’s that weight because she’s never not carried it.
“I wonder how she’s never broken” but one time she did and quickly learned nobody was coming to save her or even help.
Instead they would tell her what she’s doing wrong, never noticing the things she did right.
Neglecting her efforts.
Putting her down.
Never mind that she’s never asked for help before.
Forgetting the little things she did for them.
Hard on her because it’s not bad enough that she’s even harder on herself.
Sometimes she cries, sometimes is now.
Sometimes she doesn’t know how she’ll pull it off.
Somehow she will because she always does.
She’ll do it alone.
She’ll do it with everyone else watching.
In all reality, she wants someone to help but she can’t “share” the burden because it’s “too much”.
Too heavy.
Too costly.
Too big to fail.
Too much to lose.
Too much to carry.
Like I said… she carries it well.

Day 3 done…

Drank all my water, stuck to a diet, did my reading, & took my pics. The book is really hitting home for me. I’m reading The Mastery of Love and I just finished the chapter on The Man Who Didn’t Believe in Love. It discusses the expectations we have regarding love, how we hold it, assign meaning to it, become dependent on someone else for our happiness. It hit the nail on the head. We become dependent on someone else for our own happiness which sets extremely high expectations for both partners. Lots to think about, but yeah today went great. Didn’t want to do workout number 2, did it anyway.

Day 2

I got 1 workout in and now I’m about to f up number 2. Done with my water before 5 because my cousin told me I needed to be. The water thing, not so bad when pacing yourself but I’m still peeing like there’s no tomorrow. Read The Mastery of Love this morning. I don’t know if you’ve read it but I love this book! The beginning is about how we are affected by other people’s programming. We all have these invisible wounds that other people are unknowingly touching… if you’ve read it you know! The diet thing, going well. Took my progress pic. Can’t wait to see what I look like in a week? LOL(I know, I like to get the cart before the horse!) I was listing to Andy earlier today and he said something to the effect of you need to train in all weather. It starts snowing here in October but is already pretty cold in the morning. Sometimes I’m outside talking myself up. Ignoring my “bitch voice” 🤣 I go after it regardless of weather. This is building mental toughness. I can do hard things. I can do anything for a day. I refuse to fail.
