I historically have brought beater cars and I’m overdue for a replacement, I pay 400 a month for gas(civic 100KM per day) but I can charge an electric car at my work for free while I’m on shift.(standard 110 outlet)

“Cheap” beater cars are now $10k+ and will last 2 years if I’m lucky but I’ve never considered buying a new car before, Let alone an electric.

Basically 900 a month including gas for shitbox that I’ll have to replace soon enough.

What other costs am I not considering when buying a new plug in car?

Are their models currently available without having to wait for months?
