Light bar options

Light bar options

Hello everyone, so I recently bought my 2024 blazer ev lt. I'm loving it so far and I don't regret my decision, got a great deal on it, but I do wish it had the center led bar like the RS and SS models. I personally like that a lot and so I found out that I could buy it and maybe install it. But I'm not expecting it to be easy, from the research I've done, these are my options:

1- Best-case OEM retrofit — plug into existing hidden wiring
If my LT happens to have the unused factory connector behind the center trim (highly doubt it) I could install the RS/SS light bar and potentially just need GM programming/configuration to activate it. This would be the cleanest solution and give me factory behavior.
2- OEM-style wiring retrofit — add the missing RS/SS wiring
If there’s no connector, I could install the light bar, obtain the correct 15-pin pigtail, and add the necessary wiring between the lamp and the Blazer’s lighting-control system. Depending on how GM configured the LT, this may also require programming. This is more involved but could still behave exactly like factory.
3- Standalone/custom harness — probably the most practical fallback
If the LT’s modules simply can’t control the RS/SS light, I could run the center bar from its own fused 12-V circuit and use one of the existing DRLs/parking lights only as a low-current trigger for a relay/controller. The result would basically be:
Blazer DRLs turn on → controller sees the signal → center bar turns on.
That avoids putting the extra electrical load directly on the factory DRL wiring.

I haven't done anything yet, I'm still doing research and thinking about it, but I thought I'd bring it up on here and see if maybe by any chance anyone has done something similar or has any suggestions.

Repair attempt

Hi everyone! I kinda wanted to share an attempt I'm gonna make on "repairing" three small screw holes on the front bumper of my blazer. When I bought it last month, it came with a front license plate holder which I removed cause I think it looks way better without it, even though it's illegal in my state but I don't care lol

Anyway, the cheapest quote I could get from a body shop was 500 dollars, so in order to save some money my original plan was to try to fill them in myself with a paint kit from touchupdirect.com, but since the holes are very small and I really really don't care about having a perfect final look. I decided to buy some plastic holes, paint them with matching paint from touch up direct and then put them in the holes.

I already got everything I need, now I'm just waiting for the paint to show up and then try that first and see how it looks. I have a feeling it's gonna look good enough, for sure better than having three holes that are more ugly looking up close than these painted caps. I posted a picture of everything, just wanted to share in case anyone ever runs into a similar situation or maybe have better suggestions.

Just joined the family, am I gonna regret this? 🤔 lol

Sup everyone! Just bought a 2024 blazer ev lt, it came with all the packages, panoramic roof and all that jazz. I traded in my 2021 tesla model 3 long range because I wanted something bigger, stick with an ev, and if I was gonna get a model Y I would've preferred it was the new design but those are too expensive. I was able to buy this for 18.5k with my trade in.

I've had it for about 2 weeks and so far I'm loving it, it's a lot more spacious, drives really smoothly and I really like the look. From the research I did the main complaint from people was software glitches but I heard those have been getting fixed with updates but other than that I didn't find any other bigger complaints with this specific year and model. But I guess time will tell if I made the right choice, wish me luck! Lol
