This button is spinning (and spinning). It spins easily but it's not coming off! I suspect whatever it's threaded into has broken off? I'm not terribly worried as I likely wouldn't use the self timer personally, but I hate to damage a thing unnecessarily. I can't get the lens plate off without removing it. Any advice?

Does the mirror in an early Rolleiflex normally look like this, or is this a hack job? It looks like an ordinary bit of bathroom mirror, cut to fit. The edges are not cleanly cut - they have a "nibbled" look. It's a prewar Automat I with a Compur Rapid / CZJ Tessar 3.5. I thought these mirrors were silvered in a unique way somehow?
