Zero hype for new Leaders – Things are not looking good

Anyone else feeling zero hype when a new Elite Leader is released?

I personally don't feel any hype, because I know that I won't be able to get them. If I do get 1 every few months, I know that I won't be able to upgrade them, no matter how much I play.

Also, I don't know if I should spend my keycards on this month's Leader or wait for the next one. That creates an endless cycle of waiting and trying to find the right one, resulting into hoarding keycards or spending them on a Leader that will turn out to be useless. They basically have a brand new feature that players feel punished for interacting with it.

The situation feels like them saying: "You want this cool new Leader as a f2p player? You can spend hundreds of keybards to get it! it might be trash, you won't have enough to get another one for a few months and you also won't be able to upgrade it until we release it again (if we ever do), but you can always upgrade it by spending money!"

To me, that doesn't sound f2p player friendly at all! And the thing is that even the people who spend money on the game have to spend a ridiculous amount to max out a Leader.

And if they ever release the same Leader again, how will f2p players know that a Leader they already have will come back? How will they start saving keycards if they simply don't know?

They finally have the golden opportunity to release a new troop every month or so and they are wasting it. No one will want to come back to the game, when they know that the new content that's being added is unobtainable or unupgradable for them.

If they want more people to spend money, they should encourage them instead of indirectly forcing them.

If that isn't poor game design and a sign of lack of f2p consideration, then I don't know what is.

Please, Boom Beach developers, listen! I know you want what's best for the game, because that's how it will be successful, but consider reworking the entire system in order to be more f2p friendly, less punishing, more engaging and more rewarding for those who do spend money on it.

- A message from a worried and probably soon to be ex Boom Beach player, with respect.

All Classic Towers and their levels in Kingdom Rush Genesis!

Keep in mind that this mode will have the old tower system.

Some Vengeance and Alliance sprites have been reused and I think they look pretty good!

Kingdom Rush Genesis: Classic Rush Mode!

We'll be able to play the entire Kingdom Rush Genesis campaign using:

- Classic Towers with the old branch leveling system

- 1 Hero

- Reinforcements and Rain of Fire

Honestly, this looks incredible and I can't wait to play it!

Suggestion: We should be able to swap tower positions in the tower menu

Ironhide should make it possible to swap tower positions, just like in Vengeance and Alliance. It is a good QoL feature that would make swapping towers less annoying.

KR Genesis will have 18 stages instead of 19

They updated the Steam page when the trailer came out.

All other planned content remains as previously revealed, with 40+ enemies and 6 boss fights.

Genesis is very fun!

After playing the demo, I have to say that I had a lot of fun! Even the first 4 stages that are available are quite challenging on veteran. I lost a few hearts on stage 2. I really like the towers and the leveling system isn't as bad I thought it would be. The stages also look pretty good and speaking of things that look good, the UI is NOT one of them. I'm really hoping that the devs will change it before the game releases.

Overall, I'm VERY excited for Genesis because it felt like playing the first 3 games again. Looking forward to September 24th!

Diron, one of the beta testers for Genesis, answered many questions about the game

Watch here: Kingdom Rush Genesis Q&A

It's mostly spoiler free, but if you don't want to know ANYTHING about the game, I would suggest that you don't watch it.

This stage looks so good!

I love the look of this stage so much! The artstyle of Genesis seemed weird to me at first, but now I have to say that they did an exceptional job!

It looks like we'll be able to choose what kind of artillery tower we want the Royal Catapult to be and that will most likely be true for all other towers aswell.

In a way, it looks like they want to bring back the feeling of the old tower system from the trilogy and I'm really looking forward to it! I hope they implement these new systems in a way that won't make the game unbalanced.
