At what point is a power supply necessary?

Title. I know this sub is big on high quality power supplies, but I’m wondering when it officially becomes worth it to spend the money. And I apologize if it’s been asked already, I searched around a bit and didn’t see this being discussed specifically.

Right now I have 3 pedals and I’m pulling the trigger on a 4th one soon. The pedals I have are an old Fender tuner, a Digitech drop, an MXR Micro Chorus, and I’ll be buying an MXR Custom Badass Modified OD (what a mouthful) in the next day or so.

I intend to buy a few more over time, a Crybaby, Carbon Copy, Clone Looper, a Boss tuner, and maybe a Phase 90. All analog and low draw aside from the Digitech, I like to keep it simple.

Obviously by the time I have all those pedals a power supply is very worth it, but in the meantime I get by with my 1Spot daisy chain just fine for the few pedals I have, although it’s pretty annoying that I have to use a separate plug for the Digitech. At what point should I cough up the money?

I’m eyeing the Pedal Power 3+. I know Cioks is supposed to be better but I like that the Pedal Power is made in the US and is still a little cheaper for more outputs, for growths sake, just in case.

TLDR; low fuss board owner/planner using a 1Spot daisy chain, wondering when is the best time to upgrade power without feeling like I spent a lot of money for not a lot of immediate ROI.

Super weird question: steam damage?

Title. I have a really weird situation on my hands, probably making a mountain of a mole hill here but I’d just like to be sure.

I work nights, and came home around 3:45AM to find that the shower was running. Hot as hell, not full pressure, but steamed up the place real bad. My wife put the kids to bed at like, 7:30PM, so either something went bad with a valve or something overnight or the shower was on THAT long and she missed it somehow. Toddler shenanigans probably. ANYWAY.

The problem is that my guitars and amps are in a room at the end of the hallway that the bathroom was in. The doors on each end of the hallway were closed, but the bathroom door and the door to the music room were open.

There was water dripping from the hallway ceiling, all the walls were damp, the windows in the music room were steamed up with drops running down, that whole area was like a sauna.

There was enough steam and heat in the music room that the curtains are damp to the touch. No droplets on the ceiling, just the windows, and the guitar I have out on a stand was a little damp too but not *wet* wet.

I didn’t actually touch the amps before I opened the window and ran the ceiling fan, I was more concerned with making sure my wife and kids were alive and there was no home invader taking a sneaky shower.

So now, steam damage to the amps? I’m sure the guitars are fine. JCM2000/1960 and a Blackstar HT40 Combo if it matters at all. Probably fine?

TLDR; shower running possibly overnight without anyone knowing, steamed up my music area really bad, concerned with moisture and the amps.

I’m looking for somewhere to post a serious question I have about a concern of mine.

I recently inherited a paid off family owned home that needs a TON of renovation work. Not in the sense of “oh yuck that’s old and ugly” but more in the sense of “you’re risking expensive and catastrophic damage if you don’t fix abcxyz”.

I’m 95% through the process of taking out a mortgage loan to finance these repairs. I make plenty of money for the loan I’m asking for, but I’m a **fuel tanker truck driver in California.**

Right now. On the brink of an oil and gas shortage, and past the point where it feels like anything will return to remotely normal. I feel like I should wait and see what happens with this war and the effect on my job, but there are things with this house that simply can’t wait another year.

If anyone can point me to where I can find answers or insight from people in the know about the oil trade and fuel market in California, I’d appreciate it. I haven’t tried r/truckers cuz I don’t think they’d be anymore in the know than I am. I also don’t wanna hear the “leave California” bs. Beyond that, the guys on r/freightbrokers kinda hate drivers and I haven’t seen any petroleum industry stuff from them, and r/oil seems a little too high up the food chain, but I could be wrong on that.
