Having some health issues with my Rotti….
I have a female two year-old Rottweiler, who recently has had two issues of cyanosis this past week. Her first episode she had just come inside from a two minute pee break. Once she was back in the house, she was playing with her little brother running around and she had the zoomies in the hallway. As she flew past me I had noticed her tongue was purple, I called her over and looked inside her mouth and was horrified to see that her gums were grey/bluey in color. She was excited and having fun with her little brother, at the same time she seemed to be gasping and not getting proper air exchange….. I got her leash on her right away and took her to the emergency hospital. Upon arrival there which was less than five minutes away her color was back to normal, nice and pink…. Her breathing has settled down and she was happy to meet a whole bunch of new friends. We’re having a heat wave in Toronto right now where we’re located. It’s been extremely hot, but she’s not outside for very long, 2 to 3 minutes tops and then straight back in the house. The earliest appointment I could get to see a cardiologist is on 22 of July. I was wondering if anybody else had any episodes of this with their Dog and what it turned out to be? Thanks so much for reading. I’m so afraid to lose her.
