TicWatch Atlas x SmartDrive

TicWatch Atlas x SmartDrive

Invested in a TicWatch Atlas smartwatch this week, primarily to control my SmartDrive but also to keep tabs on things like my heart rate (I have POTS along with mild-to-moderate ME) and blood oxygen, as well as sleep. Took this route as I have an Android phone, a Google Pixel model, and don't want another bloated Samsung device, including their watches. Should be able to get some practice in this weekend with the tap gestures... it's nearly 10:30pm Eastern as I type this, so will link up the watch and SD tomorrow.

Anyone else here who uses a Wear OS watch with their SmartDrive?

Thankful for current and former Ottawans with disabilities!

The last little while, I've been in contact with a few people in the Ottawa area disability community, including the teams at The Good Access Company on Antares, and Motion in the east end. Not long ago, I helped a young Ottawa resident obtain a properly-sized active manual wheelchair when they weren't able to get one through the usual channels.

Yesterday, a former Kanata resident, who like me is an ambulatory wheelchair user, dropped by my office in Renfrew to pick up a set of used power assist wheels I sold them. This person was more than just a customer... they have a wealth of resources when it comes to mobility devices and the disability community around Ottawa, and being not too far from me, are willing to give me a lift to any disability-related events in the city that they're attending.

Too bad we hadn't connected sooner... it would have been fun to go to the Adapt Expo earlier this month at Carleton. Maybe next year...
