Why he striking so much?
Hello everyone,
I'm a first time snake owner and I know I still have a lot to learn, so I'm hoping you can help me out. Feeding is the thing I definitely feel the least confident and most confused about.
My ball python is roughly four and a half years old. He had been eating a large mouse/small rat once every 2.5-3 weeks, with feeding day moving slightly based on when he appeared active and hungry. About two months ago, he started acting hungry around 1.5-2 weeks. I offered him a medium rat and he took it without issue, but he hasn't been acting satiated since.
He keeps getting into strike pose every time his enclosure is approached, and today he striked a few times at nothing. I'm don't want to overfeed him but I also don't want him to be hungry.
Should I feed him more? Less? Change something else? Currently planning to give him more privacy and see if that helps him feel more secure, but I'm not sure what else to try.
